SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 19 – Marcelina
Castro sued the City of New
York and a John Doe
corrections officer who, she
says, punched her in the face
and "busted the right side of
[her] ribs."
On May 18,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held a
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
Castro had
begun her case pro se but now
found a new counsel. Judge
Abrams agreed to extend on
that basis, to allow for
expert evidence.
The case is
Castro v. New York City
Department of Correction,
16-cv-8147 (Abrams)
