SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 2 – Abel Saborit was
working at Harlem Hospital and
it was going well - until he
told his supervisor Keesha
Nedd that he is HIV positive.
Then there was a
failure to accommodate, and a
lawsuit.
On June 2, an
in-person bench trial
proceeded before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman. Inner City
Press covered it.
Soborit's
sister testified, as an H.R.
professional. Judge Liman
disallowed testimony about
what the law requires - that's
up to him.
Ms. Nedd
testified, until 5 pm and
slightly beyond. She will not
have to return on June 3, when
the trial may end.
The case is
Saborit, Jr. v. Harlem
Hospital Center Auxiliary,
Inc. et al., 19-cv-4686
(Liman)
