SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 12 – A lawsuit about
abstestos was filed against
Revlon, as successor in
interest to Jean Nate. It
began in New York State court,
was removed to Federal court
then dismissed without
prejudice - then
returned.
On July 12, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Koeltl wanted to know
why, after he dismissed the
case without prejudice, it
returned or was refiled.
It was an
error, was the answer. Judge
Koeltl explained that a case
cannot be filed as "related"
to a case that has been
dismissed.
This one is, or
was, McDaniel v. Revlon Inc.
et al., 20-cv-1711
(Koeltl)
