Supervised Release Sold Fentanyl To An
Undercover Now Gets 1 More Year in Prison

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 24 – Juan Rivera pleaded
guilty to armed robbery in
2007 and was sentenced to 151
months. Now he is out, and is
charged with violation the
terms of his supervised
release.
On October 22 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge Jed
S. Rakoff held his sentencing.
Inner City Press covered it.
Rivera was
charged with selling fentanyl
to an undercover officer, and
Judge Rakoff on October 7
found the government had met
it burden.
Now the
government wanted two years in
jail. Judge Rakoff went with
one year, followed by 19
months of supervised release.
