SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 1 –
Baker's Pizza, at 201 Avenue A
and 754 10th Avenue, was sued
for violations of the Fair
Labor Standards Act. Then one
of its principals was detained
while the other is subject to
a warrant for refusing to
submit to a psychological
evaluation ordered by a judge,
their lawyer says.
On May 31,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held a
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
The defendants'
counsel complained that he has
not client, at least none he
can communicate with.
He asked to
be relieved, but Judge Abrams
said she would stay the case
for 90 days, and might after
that entertain a motion to
withdraw.
There was talk,
too, of bankruptcy. The case
is Antonio Andujar v. Bakers
Pizza HK LLC et al.,
18-cv-11400 (Abrams)
