SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 14 – Leonard Johnson was
charged in the last century
with bank robbery. He began
serving a sentence; he filed a
motion to be released in 2003,
which was opposed by the US
Attorney at the time, James
Comey.
On November 12, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Jed. S. Rakoff held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
There was
much focus on what Judge
Rakoff called the razor blade
incident, which he said could
easily have resulted in death.
Johnson's lawyer
pointed about that two
relatives were in the
courtroom. Judge Rakoff took
it under advisement, promising
a decision by the end of
January but hopefully before.
The case is
US v. Johnson, 99-cr-1159
(Rakoff)
