SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 17 – Edwin Rodriguez,
previously convicted as a
felon in possession of a
firearm, was up for sentencing
on violations of supervised
release on January 14 by U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The US Attorney's
Office wrote a letter,
annexing a previous "more
fulsome" letter about VOSRs.
They said Rodriguez lied to
his probation officer, and
asked for 6 to 12 months.
Judge Engelmayer arrived at
three months - but declined to
put it off until summer as the
Federal Defender requested. He
said COVID condition were
already baked into his
sentence. He said Rodrigues
must turn himself in to the
MDC, now on COVID lock down,
on January 28 by 2 pm.
The case is
US v. Rodriguez, 14-cr-684
(Engelmayer)
