SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 12 – AIG and others have
been sued over its travel
insurance policies, and not
refunding portions of premiums
that were never earned and
could never be earned if a
trip is canceled before its
departure
date.
On April 12, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Ramos was told that the case
is not really about COVID-19
cancellations or, it seemed,
even about insurance
contracts.
Judge Ramos
pushed back at the latter. He
allowed the defendants to file
a motion to dismiss by May 3,
reply by May 31.
Discovery
is stayed until resolution of
the motion.
The case is
Seibel v. National Union Fire
Insurance Company of
Pittsburgh, PA, et al.,
22-cv-1483 (Ramos)
