SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 20 –
Paulina Porembska was working
for One Step Up LTD at 1412
Broadway in Manhattan when
COVID hit. She went on
furlough - but when she
returned, she was fired. She
sued.
On April 19, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defense said that during
Porembska's absence new people
had come to work and things
just didn't work. He made much
of the fact that Porembska
recorded her termination
interview saying that it
seemed "she got what she
wanted."
Judge Ramos said
discovery must be completed by
December 2, with a status
conference on December 7.
The case is
Porembska v. One Step Up Ltd.,
21-cv-5836 (Ramos)
