SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 23 – Selina Kyle was a
paralegal at Pierce Bainbridge
when partner Donald Lewis
lewdly approached her in the
office on a Saturday for
sex.
She had a panic
attack, them complained. Lewis
was eventually fired. But, she
said, he engaged in a campaign
against her, and the law firm
is liable as well she says in
a lawsuit that cites, among
others, Rudy
Giuliani.
On November 23, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katheine Polk Failla held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Failla ruled that resisting
sexual harassment is protected
activity to invoke retaliation
under New York law.
She denied Lewis'
motion to dismiss and said his
answer is due December 17.
The case is
Kyle v. Lewis et al.,
20-cv-6142 (Failla)
