SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 12 – George Doumanis has
been serving Federal prison
time for a fraud involving
misrepresentations about the
status of Terminus selling
fuel cell technology.
Now the
government chides him for
applying for release from
prison on the wrong statutory
scheme.
On
June 12 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Andrew L.
Carter held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
The US
Attorney's Office said
Doumanis only applied for home
confinement, not compassionate
release, on which he had yet
to exhaust his administrative
remedies.
Judge Carter
agreed, urging that the
request be made in order to
reach the merits after that.
The case is US v.
Doumanis, 17-cr-87 (Carter).
