Amid COVID Krucial Paid Alabama Nurse $13000 a Week But Bad PPE So SDNY Lawsuit

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 7 – Alexis Allen is an Alabama-based nurse who took a job amid the COVID-19 pandemic to come and work in New York for Krucial Staffing, for $13,000 a week.

She found there was no appropriate PPE. She sued.

On January 6, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Chief Judge Ona T. Wang held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The complaint says "Krucial has profited on this crisis, it rakes in double what it pays its workers."

In the docket there are quotes from D.H. Lawrence's 1919 poem, "The Grey Nurse." Less poetic, it's said Krucial is backed by an on-site, wealthy hedge fund... false reference on Yelp.

The case is Allen et al v. Krucial Staffing, LLC et al., 20-cv-2859 (Wang)
