SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 27 – Cristian
Sanchez, legally blind, sued
Welcome Skateboards Inc. for
having an inaccessible
website.
On January 27, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katherine Polk Failla held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The skateboard
company moved to dismiss,
citing lack of present injury
and mootness. But the
plaintiff replied citing a
recent decision by SDNY Judge
Edgardo Ramos in Quezada
v. U.S. Wings, Inc.
Judge
Failla read an order declining
to dismiss the complaint. Now
the defendant's answer is due
on February 27.
The case is
21-cv-02598-KPF Sanchez v.
Welcome Skateboards Inc.
