SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 28 – The City of New York
sued Harleysville Insurance
Company, saying it has a duty
to defend it in a case of a
tree that raised up a sidewalk
in Brooklyn leading to a slip
and fall. In between the two
is the City's tree contractor,
Capri Landscaping, Inc. Capri
purchased insurance from
Ohio-based Harleysville, with
the City listed as an
additional
insured.
On July
22, 2022 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Ronnie Abrams
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge
Abrams said deposition should
be completed by September 30,
with a post-fact discovery
conference set for October 14,
at 10 am.
The case is City
of New York v. Harleysville
Insurance Company, 22-cv-3306
(Abrams)
