SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 2 – Alice Kenny sued
Catholic Charities for both
gender and age
discrimination.
On May 2, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Paul A.
Engelmayer held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
Judge Engelmayer asked about
the age and gender claims
separately, pointing out that
there were some other
relatively older staffers.
The plaintiff's
lawyer noted that they were
all men - whereupon Judge
Engelmayer said the claims
must be reviewed separately,
age and
gender.
Catholic Charities, then, will
file a motion for summary
judgment by June 17, after a
joint stipulation of
undisputed facts on May 27.
The case
is Kenny v. Catholic
Charities Community Services,
Archdiocese of New York, et
al., 20-cv-3269 (Engelmayer)
