SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 24 –
Lavazza sued one of its
Florida distributors, Prime
Line -- which has now
counter-sued, saying that
Lavazza raised prices just as
customers' businesses were
damaged by the COVID pandemic,
then that Lavazza tried to
steal its
customers.
On March 24, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katherine Polk Failla held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Lavazza was dismissive of the
counterclaims and wants to
move to dismiss them.
The Lavazza
lawyer said he had only been
given the claims just before
the proceeding and was
disappointed.
Judge Failla
listened, then set a schedule:
motion to dismiss
counterclaims due April 22,
opposition May 20 and reply
June 3.
The case is
Lavazza Premium Coffees Corp.
et al v. Prime Line
Distributors Inc., 20-cv-9993
(Failla)
