SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 19 – Peter Rodriguez was
in detention in the George R.
Vierno Center on Rikers Island
on January 13, 2021 when a
fire subjected him to smoke.
He
sued.
On October 19 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Gregory H. Woods held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Rodriguez
said he'd like to move forward
with the case but due to the
crisis on Rikers Island he has
no access to the law library.
Judge Woods said fact
discovery should be completed
by March 17, 2022 and any
motions by March 18.
The case is
Rodriguez v. City of New York
et al., 21-cv-1384 (Woods)
