SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 3 – Sean Treacy's
building at 229 Webber Avenue
in Sleepy Hollow, New York,
caught fire on November 1,
2017, blamed on a Broan-NuTone
vent fan that was attributable
to Broan or a Johnson
Electric.
On June 30,
2022 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Edgardo Ramos held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
At issue was a
needed physical inspection.
Settlement figures of $150,000
and $75,000 were bandied
about.
Judge Ramos ruled
that Johnson Election should
provide the plaintiff with a
protocol regarding physical
inspection by June 14, with a
letter due to the court by
July 21.
The case is
Metropolitan Property and
Casualty Insurance Company v.
Broan-Nutone, LLC et al.,
20-cv-1890 (Ramos)
