SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 25 – Hiram Monserrate
in April sued NYC Local Law 15
which barred him, as a felon,
from running for
office.
On August 25 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Monserrate's Bronx-based
lawyer said his client wanted
to withdraw the lawsuit, to
avoid a ruling. Judge Liman
asked a filing, which was
done, a notice of voluntary
dismissal under FRCP 41(a).
And it's done. There was no
mention of Karla Giraldo.
The case was
Monserrate v. Board of
Elections in the City of New
York et al., 21-cv-3830
(Liman)
