SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 26 – Miriam Camara sued
Alltran Financial LP under the
Fair Debt Collection Practice
Act and the Fair Credit
Reporting Act - but, the
defendant said, didn't want to
settle.
On August 26 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defendant complained about the
intransigence of not settling,
telling Judge Liman he at the
country's "most prestigious
court" had better things to do
that this lawsuit.
Judge Liman
remarked that the issue of
intransigence can be dealt
with in connection with any
application for attorneys
fees.
The case is
Camara v. Alltran Financial
LP, 21-cv-1713 (Liman)
