SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 26 – Jianbo Li sued
Dumpling 516 Hudson NY Inc.
d/b/a Benedicts and others
including Lumos Kitchen and
Hot Pot Central for failure to
pay overtime and minimum
wage.
On September 24 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The case
is moving toward trial but the
question was, Before who?
Judge Koeltl
asked if both parties would
agree to trial before a
Magistrate Judge, a question
that often yields a negative
answer. But here, both said
yes.
Noting the the
assigned Magistrate Judge post
for the case had shifted from
then-Magistrate Pitman to
James L. Cott, Judge Koeltl
made the referral for trial,
praising Judge Cott as
excellent.
The case is Chin
et al v. United Restaurant
Group, Inc. et al.,
18-cv-10734 (Koeltl / Cott)
