SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 28 – Jose Paguada, a
blind man who sued a lot, has
sued R.C. Quiggle, Inc
for having an inaccessible
website, which he or his
lawyer says is setting
athletic socks and "PJ pants."
On July
22, 2022 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Edgardo Ramos
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Counsel for
Quiggle said they mostly sell
volleyball equipment, and
mostly not in New York. Also
that they are in compliance
with the ADA. They hope to
settle, given the size of
their company.
There was
not discussion of the EDNY
Newsday case, that the ADA
doesn't apply to
websites.
Judge Ramos
set a next conference for
March 16, 2023, the day after
discovery is to be completed.
The case is
Paguada v. R.C. Quiggle, Inc.,
22-cv-1085 (Ramos)
