SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 15 – Tito Llanes is
incarcerated for selling crack
in East Harlem.
On July 15 he and
his lawyer argued for
compassionate release amid the
Coronavirus pandemic, before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Andrew L. Carter. Inner
City Press covered it.
Assistant
US Attorney Christopher Clore
emphasized that the Bureau of
Prisons denied Llanes' request
in a single day, that his was
not the type of case referred
to by the Attorney General as
militating for release.
Llanes'
lawyer Womble disagreed, but
to no avail. Release was
denied.
The case is US v.
Llanes, 18-cr-420
(Carter)
