SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 18 – New York City
unions have sued the City for
discriminatory promotions in
the EMS unit of the Fire
Department.
But some of the
discovery documents have been
moved in boxes that can no
longer by searched, and may
have
termites.
On November 18,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
For well over an
hour, the rotten boxes and
possible motions were
discussed.
Judge Cave gave
some pointers on the scope of
depositions, including that
objections must be
nonargumentative and
nonsuggestive.
The case is Local
3621, EMS Officers Union,
DC-37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO et al
v. City of New York et al.,
18-cv-4476 (Liman / Cave)
