SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 27 – Juan
Hernandez-Torres was charged
with importing meth and heroin
in 2015, and pleaded guilty in
2017. Then his health
failed.
On January
27 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge George B. Daniels held a
sentencing proceeding. Inner
City Press covered
it.
The defense
emphasized the health and
kidney problems, and a safety
value proffer. Judge Daniels
showed mercy, imposing a
sentence of time served and
three years supervised
release, the first six months
in the home.
The case is US v.
Hernandez-Torres et al.,
15-cr-401 (Daniels)
