SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 21 – Warren Alexander and
Shelly Washington were
arrested for carjacking.
Then due to an
asserted conflict - prior
representation of Washington,
albeit brief - Alexander
wanted a new lawyer.
On November
20, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lewis A. Kaplan
held a Curcio hearing. Inner
City Press covered
it.
Alexander said he
understood the Curcio process,
and that he wanted to
substitute Marlon G. Kirton
for his initial counsel
Gilbert
Parris.
Kirton said he
will need time to review the
discovery.
The case is US v.
Alexander, 20-cr-37 (Kaplan)
