SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 7 – Living Thai
Cuisine of 931 Amsterdam
Avenue in Manhattan has been
sued for not paying overtime
for such tasks as stocking
inventory from a black
delivery van and bringing in
boxes of chicken to the
basement.
On December 7 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The plaintiffs
say they were required to sign
documents, "the contents of
which they were not allowed to
review in detail," before
getting paid.
Delivery-people
were required to purchase
their own electric bike,
helmets and vests.
Living Thai denies almost
everything. Now fact discovery
runs through June 1, 2021,
with a joint status report due
on January 25, 2021.
The case is
Mayahua Cuahua et al v. Living
Thai Corp et al., 20-cv-3713
(Abrams / Parker)
