SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 10 – Ornrat Keawsri and
others sued Ramen-Ya and
individuals including, now,
Yasuko Negita, for failure to
pay overtime and spread of
hours
pay.
On September 10 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defense lawyer said it is
willing to pay some of the
claims, but the calculations
have to be accurate. He said
some employees had swapped
shifts. Yasuko Negita, he
snarked, has been added as she
is the only one with
money.
The
plaintiffs' lawyer said they
were quite able to pursue the
other named individual
defendants, even to Japan.
Judge Liman said, I will give
you your trial.
The case is
Keawsri et al v. Ramen-ya Inc.
et al., 17-cv-2406 (Liman)
