SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 7 – The ship Sea
Eagle Marine was insured by
National Specialty Insurance
Company. But when a lightening
strike fried its electrical
system, the insurance claim
was
denied.
On November 5 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The issue
appears to be that the ship
did not have a valid
certificate of fire
suppression. But the plaintiff
says that has nothing to do
with how the damage was
caused.
Judge
Koeltl referred the case to
Magistrate Judge James L.
Cott.
The case is
Sea Eagle Marine LTD. v.
National Specialty Insurance
Co., 21-cv-4328 (Koeltl)
