SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 24 – In a
complaint replete with
references to Jennifer Lopez
and Benny Medina and the
handing out of sunglasses,
Brandon H. Michaels sued
Infinity Creative Agency and
Adee Drexler, in New York
State court.
The complaint
says among other things that
Drexler and ICA "began working
with Plaintiff seeking his
guidance and accepting his
assistance and services,
including on July 24, 2019 in
Miami for Jennifer Lopez'
birthday party on behalf of
Quay and Pretty Little Things
both clients of ICA with
Plaintiff's efforts, including
organizing and handling out
party favor sunglasses to
guests."
But the
case got removed to the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
before Judge Ronnie Abrams,
who in an April 24 proceeding
covered by Inner City Press
said perhaps the action should
be in California.
The
plaintiff's lawyer protested
that his client had only
temporarily been in California
and was still a New York
resident for purposes of venue
and diversity jurisdiction.
But now it is all stayed. The
case is Michaels v. Infinity
Creative Agency, et al.,
20-cv-1776 (Abrams).
