SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 17 – Rebecca Bayuo was
convicted of filing fraudulent
tax returns, in a trial
before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl.
She appealed to
the Second Circuit - and also
asked Judge Koeltl for
compassionate release.
On June 17
the Second Circuit rejected
her appeal. Later in the day
through her Goodwin Proctor
lawyers appeared before Judge
Koeltl. Inner City Press
covered it.
Richard
Strassberg of Goodwin Proctor
asked Judge Koeltl to "grant
her motion for compassionate
release once the mandate
issues and [he] has
jurisdiction to do so."
The case is US v.
Bayuo, 15-cr-576
(Koeltl).
