SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 7 – Michael Heyward was
convicted for robbing the
Hi-Fi News and Grocery Store
in 2015. Now he stands accused
of a Violation of Supervised
Release. On August 7 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Laura Taylor Swain held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
While VOSRs are
often open and shut, given
that the standard of proof is
lower than for a real trial,
in this case Heyward's lawyer
said they want to challenge
the evidence. He said there is
a video of the search in
Brooklyn.
Judge
Swain asked, Are you talking
about an evidentiary hearing?
For now, it is a conference,
on September 21.
The case is US v.
Heyward, 15-cr-341 (Swain)
