SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 18 –
Hilary A. Best sued NYC
Corrections Officers after,
facing an assault, he threw
soup on a guard "hoping that
doing so would compel him to
summon a response team to
remove me from the housing
unit."
On January 18, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Gregory H. Woods held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Best said
he would withdraw his false
arrest claim but proceed with
other claims.
A motion to
dismiss is due on February 21.
The case is Best
v. Merchant et al., 21-cv-779
(Woods)
