SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 1 – Joshua Gumora was
charged with meth and ketamine
and having a gun as a felon.
In April he
applied to U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Vernon S.
Broderick for release from
jail amid COVID-19. He was
denied. On July 1
Gumora appeared before Judge
Broderick to plead guilty.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Gumora has a plea
agreement with the US
Attorney, for 46 to 57 months.
This means any sentence before
57 months, he generally could
not appeal from.
Judge Broderick
asked if he understood this -
he did - and named October 21
or 14 as the sentencing date.
Gumora's
lawyer said he wants it as
soon as possible, so October
14. Judge Broderick said, see
you on October 21. Whereupon
Gumora asked, Isn't it the
14th? Yes, it is.
The case is US v.
Gumora, 20-cr-144
(Broderick).
