SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 20 – Last year Ravi Suria
agreed to pay John Butler
$165,00, in a proceeding
before U.S. District Court for
the South District of New York
Judge Katherine Polk Failla.
And then in March
2020 he stopped
paying.
On May 21, Judge
Failla held a proceeding which
Inner City Press covered.
Suria, it emerged, blamed the
Coronavirus for the failure to
comply.
His "business
operations have been
significantly affected by the
coronavirus. In fact, much of
his business is in Asia and he
started felling the effects of
the virus long before most
American based businesses." Really?
Judge Failla has
asked for a letter by May 22.
The case is Butler v. Suria,
17-cv-3077 (Failla).
