SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 26 – Tyson Foods sued
Marfrig Global Foods for
fraud, after it paid over $2
billion for Marfrig's
businesses around the
world.
Tyson says
the maneuvers were directed by
Marcos Antonio do Santos,
Marfrig's chairman, and
included the theft of $500,000
of artwork and collectibles on
a Saturday to avoid
detection.
On
January 26, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Chief
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Talk turned to
the Korea business that Tyson
bought, and to discovery
disputes. Judge Gorenstein
granted a motion for a stay.
The case is Tyson
Foods, Inc. v. Keystone Foods
Holdings Limited et al.,
19-cv-10125 (Carter /
Gorenstein)
