Sexting Triggers Pseudonymous Suit in
SDNY As Judge Hellerstein Asks of Forensics

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 19 – Sexting between a
15- and a 16-year old gave
raise to pseudonymous
litigation on June 18 before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein.
Inner City Press covered
it.
In the
docket, the complaint it not a
live link. Apparently, it is
sealed. But the application
for a Temporary Restraining
Order recites that "Defendant
used the Plaintiff, a minor,
to engage in sexually explicit
conduct for the purpose of
producing a visual image of
such conduct."
On June 19 Judge
Hellerstein into the
"forensics" of the photograph,
and set another proceeding for
later in the month.
The case is
called "Joseph Jones" v.
"Samuel Smith," 18-cv-5644
(Hellerstein).
