SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 31 – Walston Owen filed a
Rule 29 motion to overturn his
guilty conviction for murder.
On July 31 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Victor Marrero heard
argument from Owen's lawyer
Xavier Donaldson. Inner City
Press covered it.
Donaldson
repeatedly said there was no
evidence for various findings
against Owen.
Judge Marrero
ruled that was not that case,
that there were at least three
cooperating witnesses and it
was for the jury and not him
to assess their credibility.
He denied the Rule 29 motion.
The case is US v.
Owen, 16-cr-00809 (Marrero)
