SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 21 – Tyrone H. Massey has
sued after a fire in the
Manhattan Detention Complex on
White Street left him in need
of medical attention he did
not receive.
On December 21,
2020 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge
Katharine H. Parker held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
discovery period is not over,
but Massey proceeding pro se
has moved for summary
judgment.
The City's
Corporation Counsel asked that
the motion be withdrawn - no -
then complained that Massey
had not set forth his
damages.
He is
asking for $60,000. He wants
video of the incident.
The City says
they don't have it, it was
destroy. Massey said that
violates the Public Officers
Law. Now the City's response
is due January 22.
The case is
Massey v. Morgan, 18-cv-3994
(Carter / Parker)
