SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 23 – Richard Drayton
back on September 16, 2020
wrote that he wanted to change
his appointed lawyer. It sent
off a chain of events.
On
March 23, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Loretta A.
Preska held a Curcio hearing.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Back in
October, the first lawyer
responded, but under seal. A
few notices of appearance
later, another CJA lawyer was
appointed.
And months later,
a Curcio hearing on this new
lawyer's conflict - which has
now been waived.
The case is US v. Drayton,
17-cr-283 (Preska)
