SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 1 – A civil case
about an alleged rape gave
rise to a denied request to
seal a blog post, then a slug
fest of a proceeding which
Inner City Press covered and
here
reports.
On February 1, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltlt held a
proceeding in Czernyk v.
Bongiovanni. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Koeltl ruled that a blog post
about the case could not be
sealed. On February 1 he
admonished counsel to be more
professional, while denying a
motion saying it was too
amorphous.
The
lawyer's blog post at issue
said that "Michael
Bongiovanni, currently a New
York law student, raped our
client" - and contained a poll
about the cease and desist
letter they received.
Counsel
replied that to do these
cases, there has to be
outreach, here on the cable TV
show Bronx Talk.
This is the same
SDNY where every twist and
turn in the Ghislaine Maxwell
and now Prince Andrew cases is
reported in detail.
This case is
Czernyk v. Bongiovanni,
21-cv-10429 (Koeltl)
