SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 2 –
Amin Butler is in
the Metropolitan Detention
Center in Brooklyn with his
leg stump infected. His lawyer
has asked for
release.
On December 2, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Butler's
lawyer described leg sores.
Judge Liman expressed concern
but asked why BOP, in an
emergency, shouldn't just take
him to a hospital.
Butler's lawyer
acknowedged that could happen.
Judge Liman denied the motion
for release but again
expressed concern.
The case is
US v. Butler, 21-cr-621
(Liman)
