SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 13 – A defendant
charged with looting 775 East
Tremont Avenue in The Bronx
had a proceeding on August 13
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Paul G. Gardephe.
Inner City Press live tweeted
it.
Defense lawyer:
There a record of a case in
Queens, but nothing in The
Bronx.
US: It took some
time for the Queens matter to
show up in the public record.
We're prepared to move forward
with a hearing. We want to
revisit the conditions of
release
AUSA Bracewell:
We'd like to add GPS
monitoring. Because of the
pandemic, we can't increase
reporting. But he's had a lot
of contact with law
enforcement. There's a grand
larceny, the victim, she is
credible.
Defendant: Hello?
Hello?
AUSA: The
defendant made a number of
misrepresentations to his
probation officer, about what
car he was using, his
relationship with the
victim... We'd like GPS until
the hearing.
Defense: But the
charges underlying
Specifications 1 through 5
have been dismissed. Last time
you remanded my client, for
car theft, after that all
state criminal charges were
withdrawn. So let's not
over-react.
AUSA Bracewell:
We'd like to proceed with
Specification 6 regardless of
what the Queens DA does...
The case is US v.
Robinson, 18-cr-364 (Gardephe)
