SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 22 – Jancey Valle was
sentenced to 151 months in
prison by then U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katherine B. Forest on
February 28, 2014, for crimes
involving impersonating police
for drug trafficking violence.
Then 2017
sentencing memo by AUSA Rachel
Maimin quoted, "I got the stun
guns, I got like six of
them."
On July 22
SDNY Judge Alvin K.
Hellerstein, to whom Valle's
many appeals and entreaties
have been assigned, held a
compassionate release hearing.
Inner City Press covered
it.
From the
beginning, Judge Hellerstein's
questions concerned where
Valle would stay, and how he
gets along with his father. He
said he sentences more
generously than his
predecessor.
And by the end,
he granted compassionate
release, with a one year term
of home incarceration allowing
exit to work.
The case is
US v. Valle, 13-cr-58
