SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 19 – Joshua Pantojas was
indicted on January 21 for
robberies in which he lured
on-line sellers to his Bronx
apartment and robbed them at
knife- and gun-point.
Then he asked to
be released on bail.
On February
18 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis A. Kaplan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The US
Attorney's Office refers to
emails between Pantojas but
withheld them in full, not
just redacting victims'
information. Their letter has
whole paragraphs
redacted.
Judge
Kaplan said the alleged crimes
are serious and the evidence
seems strong.
He ordered
Pantojas remanded, but set up
a relatively expedited
schedule, discovery due
February 25 and motions
thereafter.
The case is US v.
Pantojas, 21-cr-45 (Kaplan)
