SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 5 – William Beckler was
biking on Pearl Street and
Park Row in lower Manhattan
when a movable barrier was
raised and he flew off his
bike, on September 11, 2019.
He was injured, and has sued.
He is a lawyer.
On January
5 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The US
Attorney's Office explained
that the Court Security
Officers do not work for the
US Marshall's Service, but
rather for a security vendor.
Time was provided until
February 5 to bring in a
third-party
defendant.
Beckler
has requested the video, and
it seems to exist. Discovery
runs through June 30.
The case is
Beckler v. United States
Marshals Service, 20-cv-6253
(Parker)
