SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 22 –
A lawsuit was filed in the
name of Yensy Contreras,
described as blind and wanting
to buy furniture but blocked
by the inaccessible website of
Room & Board,
Inc.
On March 22, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
There are
many suit ADA suits in the
SDNY and elsewhere. Judge
Koeltl asked hom many have
been filed by this plaintiff.
It's a matter of
public record, he was told -
and that 120 was in the
ballpark.
Defendant's counsel pushed to
get the case dismissed right
at this stage, calling the
complaint "cookie-cutter."
Judge Koeltl
reminded of the right to amend
complaints.
This case is
Contreras v. Room & Board,
Inc., 21-cv-9063 (Koeltl)
