SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 4 – Even as he was being
booed in Cadman Plaza in
Brooklyn, NYC Mayor Bill De
Blasio is being sued before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Edgardo Ramos, for
selective enforcement of this
no-gathering Emergency
Executive Order, even as
amended up to 10.
His
Corporation Counsel lawyer
says even if De Blasio's order
were struck down, Governor
Cuomo's NYS E.O. would
remains. Sirens were audible
from Foley Square.
After
hearing from and questioning
both sides, Judge Ramos denied
the requested Temporary
Restraining Order, citing the
"historic pandemic."
He said the
executive was entitled to
define what was essential and
that the amendment to allow 10
to gather further lends to
their reasonableness.
The case is
Butler et al v. City Of New
York et al., 20-cv-4067
(Ramos).
