SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 24 – Richard Wong pleaded
guilty to stealing $315,000
from his employer Citibank,
defrauding its procurement
process.
On
September 24 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Laura Taylor Swain held his
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered
it.
Wong's lawyer
emphasized how quickly he had
pleaded out. But the
government, and ultimately the
judge, focused on how long the
fraud went on: five
years.
Wong was
sentenced to 18 months, with a
request made for the camp at
Otisville.
The case is US v.
Wong, 20-cr-210 (Swain)
