SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 29 – Antony
Blinken, the US Secretary of
State, has been sued for
discriminating against his
locally employed staff in
Germany.
The case, filed in the U.S
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
which Inner City Press covers
daily since being ousted from
the UN for uncovering
corruption there, cites the Allegemeines
Gleichbehandlungsgesetz,
AGG, Germany's federal labor
law, and says Blinken also
"illegal discriminated against
U.S. citizens in violation of
the Age Discrimination in
Employment Act of 1967
(ADEA).
On August
29, Inner City Press called in
to the US State Department
briefing, at which in 2019 and
2020 it got answers, to ask
questions.
But Deputy
Spokesman Vendant Patel did
not take Inner City Press'
questions, while taking three
questions from (Blinken's)
Voice of America.
Blinken is
trying to get the case
transferred to the District
for the District of Columbia -
which Inner City Press also
covers.
The case
(for now) is Ohlund v.
Blinken, 22-cv-1005
(Schofield)
